Following the announcement that Cocoa Cabana ceased trading in Ancoats recently, the small team at CAN PETIT have taken over the entire space and refurbished with a new bar and extra seating.
They offer an authentic Spanish tapas & paella bar right in the heart of Ancoats.
Run by two ambitious chefs and close friends, David & Jorge, who met back in 2017 and knew from day one they’d open a restaurant together. In June 2024 (just turned one), their dream finally came to life with Can Petit – a celebration of everything they love about food, Spain and shared moments.
At Can Petit, every dish is made with heart – inspired by coastal flavours, childhood memories and the joy of cooking for others. We want you to feel like you’re pulling up a chair in our kitchen, not just dining out
So whether you’re looking for a quick bite, a long catch-up over paella or a glass of Spanish wine either at the bar or maybe one of the window tables.
Tapas dishes start at just £5 and portions are a good size too.
They’ve also added some seriously impressive new dishes to the menu priced at £8.
From melt-in-your-mouth Ibérico pork cheek on creamy mash to the most aesthetic aubergine topped with pistachio pesto and Manchego Every dish is packed with flavour and feels like a little trip to Spain without leaving Ancoats…
We also tried one of their new paellas, a jug of their fruity red sangria (a must!) and wrapped it all up with two dreamy desserts – the crispy Pantxineta filled with custard and the Crema Catalana with that perfect sugar crack on top.
